A total of 1,195 Muslims from Plateau State are to participate in 2019 Muslim Pilgrimage, out of which 693 are being sponsored by the state government.
Addressing the intending pilgrims on Monday in Jos, at the Rwang Pam Stadium, Governor Simon Lalong commended the Secretary of the Board, Barr. Auwal Abdullahi for returning a sum of N58 million Naira, being unspent funds after the competition of the pilgrimage of the year 2018, without any complaints by any of the pilgrims, either of neglect or allied inconvenience.
The governor said, this shows that as people that submits to the supremacy of Almighty God, that we should at all times, carry out official assignments in ways that pleasing Almighty God, which is good example from the state.
According to him, contributing to the overall figure of the 2019 Hajj are the 693 sponsored by state government, who constitute the Plateau State team to be led by this year’s Amirul Hajj, His Lordship, Justice Mohammed Ibrahim Sirajo of the state judiciary.
He urged the intending Muslim Pilgrims to see themselves as good ambassadors, by showing positive and God fearing behavioural conducts while in the Holy Land.
According to him, Plateau Muslim pilgrims to the Holy Land in their previous pilgrimage had always elicited exemplary record of good behavior, honesty, discipline and borderline in all their affairs.
He urged them to embrace same while performing this religious obligation in the Holy Land, and appealed to them all to respect the rules and regulations of Saudis by aligning with the Saudi school of thought, which takes precedence on general activities over those of other countries of the world, groups or individuals within the territorial boundaries of their home country.
