Alexander Mwolwus, Plateau PDP Stalwart has cautioned Governor Simon Lalong against abandoning projects his predecessor left behind uncompleted for the development of the state.
The party Chieftain noted that it will be a wasteful venture if Lalong’s government would embark on new projects without completing the uncompleted projects left behind by Jang.
He stated this in an interview with newsmen in Jos where he expressed fear on some of the ongoing works.
“After all, the Governor gave his words to the people of Plateau that he will first complete all uncompleted projects before embarking on new ones.
“We can only see that on the Secretariat Junction – Mararaba Jama’a road, which is under construction but we are not seeing anything on general hospitals at B/Ladi, Pankshin and Shendam.
“It is also glaring to all that the Multi-billion Naira New Jos Stadium along Zaria road is been abandoned by this government.
“The government is almost spending two years now but nothing is going on at that Stadium, where the score board and other delicate equipment worth billions of Naira are laying waste”.
According to him, “we in the PDP are watching keenly as this government is denying the youths and sports enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy watching international competitions here on the Plateau.
“But we have good news to all the youths on the Plateau that PDP will definitely come back in 2019 to complete that stadium and other neglected projects no matter how much it will take us.
“Even the General Hospitals, which are suppose to be Referral Hospitals for the three Senatorial Districts of the State would be completed at our return in 2019,’’ Mwolwus assured.
Contacted, the State Information Commissioner, Mallam Mohammed Nazif assured that by God’s grace all uncompleted project left behind by the previous administration would be completed before the tenure of this administration ends.
Nazif said that he had said it before so nobody should think it is deliberate that the stadium or any other project was deliberately neglected but that once funds are available, they shall be taken care of.
