The Partnership for Issues-Based Campaign in Nigeria (PICaN)  is an avenue for gubernatorial candidates in Kaduna State to interact with the electorate to explain the programmes they would be implementing if given the mandate.

State Team Lead Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn (PERL/FCDO), Dr. Abel Adejor expressed this in his welcome address at a one-day dialogue with governorship candidates to deliberate on citizens’ groups agenda and candidates’ blueprint towards agreeing on developmental commitments in key sectors, held in Kaduna on Tuesday September 20, 2022.”This

forum presents an opportunity for candidates to tell the electorate their plans if elected,” he said.

He explained  that the event  was supported by the UK Government through PERL FCDO.

He then called for a one-minute silence in honour of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The Partnership for Issues-Based Campaign in Nigeria (PICaN) supported by Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn (PERL/FCDO) in collaboration with Legal Awareness for Nigeria Women (LANW)  organized the agenda setting dialogue with governorship candidates to deliberate on citizens’ groups agenda and candidates’ blueprint towards agreeing on developmental commitments in key sectors.

The dialogue  provided a forum for promoting youth and women participation in the electoral process and issues based campaigns.

“We are expecting governorship candidates from the contending political parties in the state,” Dr. Adejor said.
