Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), presidential candidate, Peter Obi has blamed leadership failure of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the nation’s woes, pledging to make the country a productive one and not a consuming one.
He expressed this at the party’s secretariat in Kaduna on Monday when he took his campaign train to the state to solicit support for his presidential ambition.
According to him, the country should seek alternative means of generating revenue, if it must follow in the steps of great, developed and self dependant nations of the world.
“Nigeria is a consuming country, all we do is to share proceeds from crude oil sales. There are so many states in the country that cannot feed themselves. The Netherlands which is the size of Kaduna generates eight times what we get from crude oil per annum from farming.”
“Vietnam makes twenty times what we get from the sales of crude oil from the textiles and clothing industry alone.”
He urged Nigerians to vote wisely so as to prevent the country from total collapse because “what this government have been sharing which is proceeds from oil has seized to exist.”
He concluded by saying that as an economist, reviving Nigeria is a collective responsibility of every Nigerian.
