A Non Governmental Organization, Centre for Peace Advancement and Socio-Economic Development ‎(CPAED) has taken the campaign of peaceful coexistence among all and sundry to Primary and secondary schools in Kaduna State.
‎Coordinator of the sensitization program, Mrs Obiora Jane who spoke to newsmen on the essence of the campaign at LGEA primary school Gwari road, one of the schools visited said, sensitizing young ones on the importance of peaceful coexistence cannot be over-emphasised.

She averred that most often, the young ones are not carried along when issues of sensitization are being advocated, adding that, “these children are better sensitized because whatever information they get stick to their brains, hence the need to inculcate in them the utmost need for peaceful coexistence regardless of ethnic or religious differences” she stressed.

“We are carrying the message of attitudinal change to pupils in primary school and students in secondary schools in Kaduna state, we want them to carry the message back to their parents on the need for harmonious relationship among all and sundry.

“As Nigerians, there is the need to be our brothers’ keepers regardless of our tribe, religion or ethnicity. No need to fight each other on the basis of our religion, we need to love and care for one another.

“The children are now better admonished not to insult each other, take that which does not belong to them or hate each other for whatever reason and are expected to pass same message to their parents.”

Some of the pupils and students who spoke to newsmen expressed appreciation to the CPAED for enlightening their understanding on peaceful and harmonious relationship‎, assuring to pass the message to their parents and friends to change their attitudes.

Some of the schools that the sensitization was taken to include Queen Amina college, LGEA primary school Lagos street,LGEA primary school Gwari road, LGEA primary school Muri road and Doka Junior and Senior Secondary ‎schools all in Kaduna North and South local government areas of the state.
