PDP Suspends Former National Secretary Over Alleged Anti-party Activities

Executive Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of Tsauri A Ward in Kurfi Local Government Area of Katsina State has suspended the former National Secretary of the party, Senator Umar Ibrahim Tsauri for an alleged anti- party activities.

Senator Ibrahim Tsauri was suspended in a jointly signed letter dated September 13, 2024 by Tsauri A ward Chairman and Secretary of the party, Danjuma Abubakar and Abdullahi Garba to the State Chairman at party’s headquarters in Katsina.

According to the letter, the suspension of Senator Tsauri would be pending the outcome of a disciplinary committee investigation set up by the ward executive to investigate him on the following:-
(1) Anti – party activities (2) Unguarded utterances against the National leadership of the Party (3) Actions and Associations capable of embarrassing and bringing the party to disrepute.

The PDP executive in Tsauri A Ward said the suspension of the former National Secretary of the party, Senator Umar Ibrahim Tsauri was in line with the provision of Article 59 (1) of the PDP Constitution which empowers Ward party executives to take disciplinary action against erring members.

” We urge all members of our great party remain committed to the principles of party’s discipline and loyalty,” the letter said.

Accordingly, it said, “We must work together to build a strong and united party capable of winning election and serving the interest of our people.”

The suspension was endorsed by fourteen (14) executive members of the party in Tsauri A ward, while three other members were absent.
