A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain and  a former Governor of Ekiti State,  Mr. Ayodele Fayose on Monday,  declared that his  party is “sick upstairs now”.

Featuring on Fresh FM 105.9 Ibadan live interview programme, ” Situation Room” monitored by the New Nigerian, the PDP Chieftain said with the outcome of the February 25 polls, it is glaring that the battle in PDP has just started.

Mr Fayose stressed that it will not be possible for the PDP National Chairman, Dr Iyiocha Ayu to lead any meeting of the party with the loss suffered by the party at the last election.

The former governor pointed out that PDP as a party with its present leadership has lost the election even before it was held going by the prolonged internal crisis rocking the party.

Mr Fayose maintained that prior to the February 25 election, PDP as a political party had been so fragmented and divided into factions as a result of the failure of its leadership to manage the party.

According to Mr Fayose, going by the outcome of the Presidential election, it is glaring that Senator Ayu can no longer  lead the party and should quit for the reorganization of the party.

He however, declared that PDP is the party to beat in the March 18 governorship and the House of Assembly elections across the country

On the February 25 Presidential election won by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu the former governor of Ekiti State disclosed that in his own opinion, the election was credible, free and fair.

Mr Fayose who likened the February 25 polls to that of 1993 won by late Chief MKO Abiola which according to him was equally credible, free and fair, said Nigerians should commend President Muhammadu Buhari for having a credible free and fair election going by the outcome of the elections in some parts of the country.

Advising those not satisfied with the results of the election to without wasting time accept it in good faith and allow the country to move forward, said to show that the election was credible free and fair, President Buhari lost his Katsina state to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate while the President elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu also lost in Lagos state as well as in Osun state.

Mr Fayose stressed that if it was to be in the past, there was no way the Mr Peter Obi of Labour Party could lead Asiwaju Tinubu in an election in Lagos state, and that it was glaring that everybody won where they are loved.

” As far as I am concerned, the February 25 election that brought Tinubu as President elect was credible, free and fair. If Buhari can lose Katsina to Atiku and if  Tinubu  can lose Lagos and Osun states. what are we now saying”, he said
