The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna has rejected the gubernatorial election result declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission yesterday.

The Chairman of the party, Hon Felix Hassan Hyat while briefing newsmen in Kaduna, said they are rejecting the result declared by INEC because it is questionable.

He said, “If you recall the press conference of 20th March, in which I demanded the use of authentic results from the INEC Server (IReV) as the only accepted results for declaration of governorship in our state.

“It was necessary because we have sensed lack of transparency from INEC Officials which was glaring that justice will not be done.” He said.

Explaining further, the PDP chairman said their fears were confirmed when the State Gubernatorial Returning officer, Prof. Lawal Sulaiman Bilbis used the questionable results to declare Sen. Uba Sani of APC as elected with 730,002 votes as against 719,196 votes allocated to their candidate Rt. Hon. Mohammed Isah Ashiru of the PDP.

“Hence, the PDP rejects this result and the declaration of Sen. Uba Sani as winner of the Gubernatorial Elections of 18/03/2023 in our dear Kaduna State,” Hyat said.

While assuring the supporters of the PDP that they will not leave any stone unturned in the quest to reclaim their mandate, Hyat assured that necessary action in accordance with the law have commenced to fight the cause to its logical conclusion.
