The Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated its Candidate in the Kogi East Senatorial Re-Run Election, the former Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Isaac Alfa (rtd) on his victory at the Polls on Saturday in Kogi State.

Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the party’s spokesman speaking to the media in Abuja, said that the victory of the Former Chief of Air Staff at the Polls is a reflection of the will of the People in Kogi State and the general acceptance of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in general.
“Our victory in Kogi East Re-Run Election on Saturday, July 23, 2016 is a confirmation of the general perception of Nigerians about our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as it demonstrated to Nigerians that the PDP is firmly rooted in all nooks and cranny of this Country as a grassroots’ Party” declared Prince Adeyeye.
The Party while congratulating its Candidate, Air Vice Marshal Isaac Alfa (Rtd.), advised him to join other PDP Senators in the Red Chamber at the National Assembly to provide the needed legislations that will boost the Nation’s dwindling economy under the APC led administration.
On the other hand, the Party reacting to the inconclusive election of Imo North Re-Run Senatorial Election held on the same Saturday July 23, 2016, cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressive Congress (APC)’s led Government in Imo State to tread carefully with the results of the Election.
“We are following the results from the various polling units and local government areas that makes up the Imo North Senatorial District in Imo State and we wish to use this opportunity to tell INEC to maintain their position as an unbiased umpire in elections because Nigerians and the world are watching keenly to see the final outcome of the Election. INEC and the APC in the state must respect the wishes of the people”.
The Party thanked the electorates in Kogi East Senatorial District for voting wisely while calling on its members and other voters in Imo North Senatorial District to remain calm until the final determination of the results declaring that the PDP will reject and challenge the outcome if its candidate is not declared Winner.
