The newly inaugurated Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Ilesa West Local Government of Osun State, Hon. Bode Awopetu has called on leaders and other stake holders of the party to unite.
Speaking with Journalists in Ilesa, Hon. Awopetu assured that with the cooperation of all and sundry, he will sanitise the party to redeem the battered image of the party in the last few months.
This, he said could only be achieved through aggressive mobilisation of those politicians who had shown their readiness to join PDP from other political parties, most especially the rulling party, the All Progressive Congress ( APC).
Hon. Bode Awopetu, who was the Counsellor representing Ward 10 and the Deputy Leader of the House between 2007 and 2010 nominated for the party Chairman on September 22, 2016 and was later ratified through consencus by Leaders of the party in Ilesa West Local Government on Sunday, October 2, 2016.
The new Chairman who has occupied various offices, is known as a grass root politician, also a successful business man who has proven himself to be transparent and a man of high integrity at all times.
Commenting on the insecurity within the society, he assured members, of the provision of adeguate security and safety of lives and property from the hands of the ruling party when ever the challenge arises.
Part of his programmes as the Chairman of PDP, he said will include sensitisation of members, the electorates who do not belong to any party and other party admirers within and outside the Local Government.
While thanking members in Ilesa West Local Government for the confidence reposed in him, he assured of his readiness to take the party to greater heights in the coming elections.
