Parents in Nigeria have been reminded on the need for proper training and ensuring proper conduct of their children’s behaviour and morality.
This was a consensus and view of Islamic scholars at the Sheik Ahmad Arabi Memorial Annual 7th edition of Hadith Competition for Plateau State held at the Conference Hall of JNI in jos.
Dr. Sumaye Hamza, the Executive Assistant to Governor, Simon B. Lalong on investment programmes said parents in the country need to be conscious over the upbringing of their children.
She told parents never to leave the total care and upbringing of their children in the hands of house maids to mold their thinking.
“I think the parents in our society must be up and doing concerning the conduct of their kids so that we can have a better society. “.
According to her, “ social and political problems bedeviling the society could be attributed to lack of adherence to moral values“.
The organizer of the Hadith Competition among Islamic Schools, Alhaji Yusuf Yahaya explained the importance of the talent competition involving Islamic schools in the state.
He explained the need for the Plateau State Government to be involved in sponsoring such competitions among its citizens.
Also speaking on the occasion, the Chief Imam of Jos Central Mosque, Sheik Lawan Adam lamented over what he called increasing menace of hooliganism among youth in the state.
