Parents in Sokoto get N31 million to send children to school

Sokoto State Government has disbursed N31 million to 775 parents and guardians to enable them send their children and wards to school.
According to a statement, the State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Bala Kokani, disclosed this on Thursday at a media briefing in Sokoto.
He said that the disbursement was under the government’s conditional cash transfer project of the Millennium Development Goals. He stressed that the government had revived its moribund food and nutrition committee, conducted situation assessment and analysis of all communities in the state.
Kokani stressed that experts have began fine-tuning documents as part of preparations for the 2017 budget. He stressed that the state government has achieved significant success in meeting the targets of the 2016 budget, and assured that more projects would be implemented for the benefit in 2017, expresseing satisfaction with the implementation of the 2016 budget.
