PAN offers indigent students Univ scholarship

Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN), Kaduna, through United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) has offered two indigent students scholarship to aid their admission and study in universities of their choices.
PAN, UNICEF along with other outfits co-sponsored the Fifth Chukker Charity Shield tournament to also raise fund to aid primary schools in the host community of the Polo outfit with facilities and empowerment skills.
Speaking on the development, the Head, Corporate Communication of PAN, Kaduna, Haruna Malami said this is imperative considering the less privilege nature of the community and the seriousness of the students, majority of whose parents are subsistent farmers.
He said aside the scholarship, PAN is poised to pick some of the students to train them, utilising its outfits on skill acquisition to empower them.
Also speaking, the Communication Consultant for Fifth Chukker, Nadya Ruth Froesch said the Charity Shield Polo tournament supported by various organisations as their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), has being on-going now for ten years.
She stressed that it is the aspiration of Fifth Chukker to take the children of its host community out of the hood by supporting their education and other aspirations to better their future.
Lubabtu Idris, who said she aspires to study Mechanical Engineering and Saifulahi Shuaib, who aspires to study Medicine; both from Mararaban Jos in Igabi Local Government Area, who are awaiting their admissions got three hundred and ten thousand naira (N310, 000) each.
A handful number of primary school pupils were given packages ranging from school bags, stationery among others.
The tournament saw teams and outstanding players rewarded at the Game of Kings watched by hundreds of fans.
