PAN calls on El-Rufai to fulfil promise of revamping ailing industries …Seeks NUJ Collaboration

The Managing Director, Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN) Ibrahim Boyi has called on Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai to fulfill his campaign promise of revamping the ailing industries in the state while seeking the collaboration of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Boyi made the call during a visit on the management of the automobile comoany in Kaduna by the executives of NUJ, Kaduna Council led by the Chairman, Comrade Mohammed Garba.
Represented by the Executive Director Finance, Mr Jumat Alli-Oluwafuyi, Boyi asserted that journalists have a big role to play in reminding and sensitizing the government and the public on the revival and establishment of small, medium and big industries in the society.
He also stressed the role of Kaduna in politics and economics of Nigeria making it next to Kano, hence the establishment of most industries in the Kakuri Industrial area .
He said despite the collapse of many industries in Kaduna, PAN is still standing and rearing to go stronger.
He challenged journalists to put the govt on it toes to fulfil its promises of industrial revival.
He emphasized the importance of economy in the survival of any nation, saying that manufacturing industries are the backbone of progress and development of all nations.
For a nation to grow, develop and survive, it must consider its economic potentials and evolve means to harness them for the good of its citizens.
“By May 29th, the State government will be one year in office.We are appealing to Mallam Nasir El-Rufai to fulfill his campaign promise of reviving ailing industries in the state,” he said.
He promised to replace the PAN vehicle donated to the NUJ Kaduna council for over a decade now. “We should either replace or refurbish the vehicle we once donated to you. We are partners in progress,”he said.
Earlier, in his remarks, the NUJ Kaduna Council Chairman, Comrade Garba Muhammed informed the PAN management that the visit is to rekindle the existing relationship with the leading automobile firm in the country, adding that, the council is highly impressed by the way and manner the firm has been keying into the federal government policy on automobile manufacturing over the years.
The Chairman also commended PAN for overcoming hard economic times among many ailing companies in the country in the history of the company’s existence since 1972.
He thanked the management for the donation of a durable vehicle to the council, which according to him, has been in use for almost a decade now without break down. “It is a practical testimony that, PAN products are durable and made to last with the state of our roads and economy. We are really impressed by the durability of PAN products, and indeed testifying to the governments and the public that, it pays to use Peugeot vehicle anytime and anywhere.”
Muhammad then assured the management of his council’s continuos relationship at all time and NUJ is poised to collaborate with PAN in line with FG drive to promote patronage of made in Nigeria products.
