The Customs Area Controller for Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigerian Customs service Mr.Temitope Ogunkua has said the command generated over N900million and made 30 seizures of estimated duty paid value of over N20million between January and now.
Mr Ogunkua stated this while addressing journalists on the activities of the Command in the last few days during which the command seized 98, 50kg bags of rice along Saki-Odo axis as well as 71 litres of vegetable oil along Saki-axis together with over 6,000 smuggled gallons of petroleum products.
The Controller stressed that men of the Command during their patrol, also arrested a white coloured  Iveco Ford truck along Idi-Ayunre, Ogunmakin axis with the siezed petroleum products.
He however handed over the petroleum products to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Oyo State for further investigations he said.
Speaking further, the Controller warned smugglers to stay away from the command saying the Command is fully ready to curb smuggling in and around its jurisdiction.
Mr Ogunkua advised the general public to beware of such smuggled goods with fake custom documents as the command will leave no stone unturned in its strategies against anti-smuggling activities in the command.
