*Receives DIG Alabi in Ibadan .

Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde on Wednesday, said that insurgency of illegal mining, banditry, kidnapping are now on the increase in Oke-Ogun and other areas of the state.
Engr Makinde stated this in Ibadan while receiving the Deputy Inspector General of Police, FCID and South West zone, Abiodun Sylvester Alabi to the Oyo State Governor”s office.
Speaking through his Deputy, Barr. Bayo Lawal, he disclosed that there was a reported case of kidnap along Igbeti-Igboho road on Wednesday while a driver of an unspecified vehicle was reportedly killed along the same route not quite long.
Gov Makinde noted that while the illegal miners are depleting the resources of the state through nefarious act, the kidnappers and perpetrators of other acts are making the affected areas unsafe for the dwellers.
He said the perpetrators of the heinous act have infiltrated the forest in the Northern part of the state and have turned the forest to venue to launch attacks at the dwellers and passersby and that the long forest in Oke-Ogun area is where reported cases of kidnapping/abduction takes place.
While speaking, DIG Abiodun Alabi maintained that his visit to Oyo State, ” is aimed at interfacing with the police and the stakeholders on the security challenge and proffer solution.”
