The Social Democratic Party (SDP) is to give out chairmanship and councilorship forms to female aspirants of the party free of charge in Oyo state.
This was contained in a statement by the party’s state Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Akeem Azeez on the February 2017 local government polls in Oyo state.
According to the Oyo SDP Publicity Secretary, purchase of forms for the local government polls has commenced on Monday, December 5, 2016 by 12 noon at the party’s state secretariat, Omi Titun House, Idi-Ape, Ibadan.
Alhaji Azeez stressed that interested aspirants can get the expression of interest form for the position of chairman at N20,000.00, while councilorship form is available at N5,000.00.
Emphasizing that the gesture was in line with the dictates of the party’s constitution, Alhaji Azeez asked members of the party across Oyo state to liaise with the party’s chairmen at the LG level to decide how primaries will be held for the February 11, 2017 polls.
