Over 4000 Students Benefits From Senator Enoh N70M Scholarship Scheme

A total of 4,020 students from the Central senatorial district are to benefit from Senator John Owan Enoh’s scholarship scheme worth about N70 million.
Tagged “Education Support programme”, they are of various categories ranging from JAMB candidates to postgraduates students within his senatorial district.
Beneficiaries were drawn from the 66 political wards in the six councils of the senatorial zone.
Presenting the cheques to the beneficiaries in Ikom local government area, Eno said the gesture is to assist them in the pursuit of their academic careers.
He said that the programme is part of his responsibility to the people of the constituency despite the current economic hardship.
According to him, “I am not doing this programme because I have so much money; but because of the love, sacrifice and a sense of responsibility to the people of my constituency. It is a feeling of indebtedness that I owe to the people of Central Senatorial district, who toiled with me and kept faith during the time of my campaigns”.
A breakdown of the categories in the 66 electoral wards shows that; 60 post graduates are take home  (N100,000 each); 660 undergraduates (N50,000 each); 1,320 SSS 111 (N15,000 each); while JSS 111 will receive N5,000 each while candidates for JAMB smiles home with N6,000 each.
Enoh said that each of the 66 wards have equal number of beneficiaries and advised them to make proper use of the opportunity.
Speaking on behalf of the local government areas, Prof. Florence Obi, Vice Chancellor Academics, University of Calabar, described the Senator as “very excellent performer”.
She commended him for the gesture and called on the beneficiaries to take advantage of the support to fulfil their future dreams.
One of the beneficiaries, Miss Grace Linus Emori, Adadamain Abi local government area, who spoke on behalf of others said “I am happy to be part of the success story”.
