Over 400 Teams Battle For Prizes At Mohammed Sani Dattijo Peace, Unity Cup

No fewer than 400 teams have been drawn to participate in the Mohammed Sani Dattijo Peace and Unity tournament sponsored by Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams.

The tournament expected to be played within three months with a kick off scheduled for the 11th or 12th March, 2022 has cash prize tag of 2 million aira for the winner, 1.5 million naira for the runners up and 1 million naira for the third position with several other consolation prizes.

Sponsor of the tournament, Hon. Ekene who is the current manager of the Remo Stars FC who disclosed the prizes during the draw for the tournament which held at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS) media centre Kaduna at the weekend also provided a banded 18- seater bus for the Local Organizing Committee (LOC).

During the draws for the participating registered teams almost a thousand balls were also shared for all the the registered teams which cut across the entire 23 local government areas of the State.

Hon. Ekene also disclosed that the matches will be played across 5 centres on a knock out basis in all of the centres, adding that jerseys will be provided for teams that makes it to the second round of the tournament.

” The matches will be played at five centres namely Yelwa centre, Gonin Gora centre, Kawo centre, Tudun Wada centre and Maiduguri road centre and my boss who we are showcasing to take over from Malam Nasir el-Rufai will visit the centres during the matches” he assured.

” We are committed to do anything that will bring about grassroot sports development in Kaduna State and this tournament is one among many others to come, adding that any form of cheating either on the part of the players or their coaches during this tournament will not be tolerated,” he said.
