Osun declares Tomorrow Monday public holiday for traditional religion worshipers

Osun State Government has declared Tomorrow, Monday August 22 a public holiday for celebration of traditional African festival known as Isese Day.
Isese Day, among the traditional believers, is the celebration of the peak of festivity in Yorubaland tagged Odun Nla.
The state governor, Rauf Aregbesola has since assumption of office in 2010 given recognition to the traditional religion worshipers, according them same right as other religious faith to provide equal platform for all religions and to promote communal peace and progress.
In a press statement released by the Director, Bureau of Communication and Strategy, Governor’s Office, Mr Semiu Okanlawon, it said, “The Osun Government wishes to announce that Monday, Aug. 22 is hereby declared a public holiday.
“The holiday is in recognition of the annual Isese Day, which allows the adherents of traditional religion to come together for the annual celebration.”
