Osun 2022:: No Room For War Mongers, Trouble Makers, CP Warns

Osun State Police Command on Wednesday warned ” war-mongers, troublemakers, persons, or groups intending or planning to cause, create or execute any act of violence before, during and after the primary/gubernatorial elections this weekend to stay away from the state.
The Police command in a statement by its Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), SP Opalola Yemisi Olawoyin also asked those planning to embark on politically motivated protest in the state and their sponsor(s) to jettison the plan or any of such action(s) forthwith, as the Command frowns at any form of protest under any guise.
In the statement, the Police command advised the ” ” war-mongers, troublemakers, persons, group or groups intending or planning to ” in their own interest, leave the State quietly and peacefully.”
According to the statement, ” the intelligence that availed the Police Command revealed clandestine plans by some group of people to embark on protest which is scheduled to hold today 16th February, 2022″

” In view of this, the Commissioner of Police,  CP Olawale Olokode, warned individual or group of individuals that are planning such in the state and their sponsor(s) jettison the plan or any of such action(s) forthwith, because the Command frowns at any form of protest under any guise, especially this electioneering period in the State and is fully prepared to use all legitimate means to avert such intending protest” it said.
The statement added, ” therefore, Osun State Police Command is using this medium to appeal to parents and guardians to warn their children and wards to stay out of trouble during this period of elections. They should not allow themselves to be used by any vicious politicians to cause crisis in the State as the command will not tolerate any kind of thuggery, gangsterism and hooliganism”.
” War-mongers, troublemakers, persons, group or groups intending or planning to cause, create or execute any act of violence before, during and after the primary/ gubernatorial elections should, in their own interest, leave the State quietly and peacefully.”
Osun State Police command stressed that ” the Police and other security agencies in the State will secure a level playing ground for all political parties, politicians and all the eligible electorates to exercise their franchise while we will not hesitate to deal decisively and within the ambit of law, with anyone, group of persons who attempt to foment trouble and in the process disrupt the smooth conduct of the elections”.
Part of the statement reads, ” though, all allegations and counter-allegations are not unexpected, it is pertinent to state clearly here, that the police is apolitical, and we will discharge our duties without bias or favour to any  person or persons regardless of their political affiliation. 
* The CP enjoined the good people of the state to go about their lawful daily activities while the Command has taken necessary security measures to forestall any likely breakdown of law and order.”
