The Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, OSOPADEC has embarked on life transformation programmes for the people in the oil producing communities of the State.
To achieve this, the Commission has identified staff training and retraining as a key to better service delivery in every aspect of human development.
Speaking at a three day training retreat for Management and Senior Staff of the Commission, the Chairman of the Commission, Ho. Olugbenga Edema said that OSOPADEC activities in 2018 will be ICT-driven.
According to him, the Management Staff will be empowered with ICT knowledge and devices in the first quarter of the year 2018 adding that the commission has taken partnership and synergy for rapid development to the front burner.
Honourable Olugbenga Edema made the promise recently in his closing remarks at a 3-day retreat which the Commission organized for its Management Staff at the Public Service Training Institute (PSTI) Ilara Mokin in Ifedore Local Government Area of the State.
The training themed “Change, Performance and Results” was declared open by the Governor of the State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, represented by the Secretary to the Government, Honourable Ifedayo Abegunde, accompanied by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Olugbenga Ale, Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Funsho Esan and the Head of Service, Mr. Toyin Akinkuotu.
A major highlight of the event was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between an establishment of the Chevron Corporation – Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) and the Commission.
About seventy staff members of the Commission participated in various sessions of the man power training.
