Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruq Umar Faruq has turbaned Yusuf, son of President Muhammadu Buhari as District Head of a newly created Kwasarawa District in Daura Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The colorful ceremony which took place at the palace of the Emir, attracted Governor Aminu Bello Masari who led Vice-President Professor Yemi Osinbajo and his entourage to the ancient city of Daura.
The entourage of the Vice-President included the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and the Chief of Staff of the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.
Others were the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu and some members of the National House of Assembly.
Also in attendance were the State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Tasi’u Musa Maigari, the Secretary to the Government of the State, Dr. Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa, some members of the State Executive Council and Alhaji Dahiru Bara’u Mangal.
In an address, Governor Aminu Bello Masari urged the son of the President and the newly turbaned District Head to work in harmony with his counterpart of Demurkul in repositioning the Emirate.
He reminded them to tread the footsteps of President President Muhammadu Buhari in leading their people.
Governor Bello Masari called on people to continue with prayers for the restoration of peace, instead of shifting blames.
Earlier, after the turbanning, Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruq Umar Faruq said the new Talban Daura, Yusuf Buhari was now a full time member of Daura Emirate Council.
He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the giant development in the area
Alhaji Umar Faruq Umar said the newly created Kwasarawa District has twelve village heads and two electoral wards.
