Operation Crocodile Smile to be inaugurated in Cross River – Army Chief

Commander of 13 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Cross River State, Brigadier General Bulama Biu has said that arrangement has been concluded to officially launch the “Operation Crocodile Smile” in the state
It would recalled that the military exercise had been launched in some of the Niger Delta region since it was introduced by the Federal Government.
The Chief of Army Staff is expected to formally launch the operation Crocodile Smile.
Speaking at the flag off of medical outreach of the brigade in Calabar, the Commander of the 13 Brigade, Brigadier General Biu said the brigade also confiscated two speed boats believed to have been bought by suspected members of the Bakassi Strike Force.
The Commander said it was not true that the militant group or any criminal gangs were dominating any partof the state as his men and army operations were intensely on course in and around the state.
He said alongside other security agencies, Operation Delta Safe the Brigade has kept tab with every security issues that had resulted in calm and safety in the state.
He stressed that security was not for experts alone and called on the people to support the army for greater success and peace.
“The essence of the medical outreach is a way of appreciating the people of Calabar for their supports towards our operations. We shall continue to strengthen our relationship through this outreach in order to earn their love.
Biu said they will conduct health education, free screening exercise, issue free drugs and mosquito nets, food stuff and disinfectant during the exercise.
In her remarks, the Commissioner for health, Mrs Inyang Asibong, said the state government was very proud to partner with the Army in health provision to the people of the state at this auspicious period in the history of our nation.
