Only Enterprising People Will Successfully Survive Recession – Arulogun

Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Toye Arulogun, has advocated inclusion of entrepreneurship in the Nigerian education curriculum.
Mr Arulogun who made the call in Ibadan while speaking at the 1st annual personality guest lecture organised by Unibadan Association of Dental Students declared that only enterprising people would successfully survive the current economic climate.
The Commissioner pointed out that the time has come for Nigerians, particularly the youths to among other things embrace entrepreneurship and that multi- skilled and talented individuals who are innovative, visionary with the determination to excel in life are the people who with higher success rate especially in the current harsh economic period.
“The Nigerian education curriculum should include  entrepreneurship and our youth must be ready to innovate. We cannot continue to breed graduates who look forward to being employed. Rather the paradigm must shift to graduates who are primed to be employers of labour. For such entrepreneurs to succeed, innovation is key”he said.
Mr. Arulogun in his lecture titled,“Innovation: The Entrepreneurs key to Success” emphasized that it is now glaring that being “innovative is a panacea to the lingering economic recession and high level unemployment rate in Nigeria”.
In his own lecture entitled ‘The Brooding economy: our Stand our Role’,Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr. Abayomi Oke the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr. Abayomi Oke said the insurgency in the south-east, Fulani herdsmen attacks, Boko-haram bombing, killings in various parts of the country as some social vices bedeviling the nation are not in any way helping the current economic recession in the Nigeria.
Emphasizing that the growth and development of Nigeria should be the responsibility of all and sundry,Mr Oke asked
Nigerians to join hands with the government so as to be able to  arrest these social vices.
The Commissioner however restated that the Ajimobi-led administration would continue to create employment opportinities and empowerment for the youths in the state.
