Only el-Rufai Will Determine Our Support For Tinubu – Northern CSOs

Following the controversies surrounding his clearance for confirmation as a ministerial nominee, a group, Coalition of Northern Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), has opened up.that only Malam Nasir el-Rufai will determine their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The group expressed this at a press briefing in Kaduna on Friday August 11, 2023, with the text of the briefing, jointly signed by its National President, Hon Jamilu Ismail   and

Secretary North West, Dr. Abdulrauf Abdullahi.

“That we as Northern Nigerian Youths are proud to be associated with Mal Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufa’I and as a Minister or not we stand with him and we say no retreat no surrender.
“That based on the directives of Mal Nasiru Ahmed

Rufa’I, we shall continue to support President Tinubu’s administration,” they declared..  Warning that the time to act is now, the group said that i

t is unfortunate that Mal Nasiru Ahmed el-Rufa’I who is an icon of International repute, a true democrat and a fore runner in the emergence of His Excellency Sen Bola Ahmed Tinubu would be kept on hold by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the basis of non-clearance by the Security Agencies. This is not acceptable to us as Northern Youths.
“Mal Nasiru el-Rufa’I has been the pioneer of the President Tinubu movement in the North and Nigeria at large, the man who stood firmly against all odds to support the emergence of the candidature of the Presidency from the South West and singled out President Tinubu as his candidate which was a movement supported by the Northern colleagues and today we as Northern youths are proud to say that we supported the President Tinubu campaign because of the presence of Mal Nasiru El-Ruf’a’I in the movement.
“Today, the same man who gave his all is been haunted for only God knows what.
“You would all recall that Mal Nasiru el-Rufa’I made a wonderful presentation during his screening at the Senate and Senators from Kaduna State unanimously and publicly supported his nomination,” they pointed out.

According to the CSOs at the Emergency Solidarity Press Conference In Support Of Mal Nasiru Ahmed el-Rufa’i,  they said that el-Rufai’s shinning star cannot be dimmed by such actions of people scared of his growing influence.

“However, we know that stones are only thrown at trees with ripe fruits and one thing you cannot take away from Mallam is his intellectual capacity and sagacity. This he has showcased in Kaduna State today.
“His antecedents as former BPE Chairman, former Minister and the immediate past Governor of Kaduna State speaks volumes.
“Today we put it to the Security Agencies, the Nigerian Senate and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigerian that we hurt and this delay is not pleasant to us.
“In Northern Nigeria today we don’t have a mentor we look up to today by Mal el-Rufa’I and know that his nomination and screening wont scale through unchallenged but we can say authoritatively that he would surmount the challenges because nothing good comes easy.
“It is also important we tell Nigerians that there has never been any known issue with the Security agencies before now. Why now? Is it because some selfish and self-centered people see him as a force they can’t withstand? We put it to them that they have failed because Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufa’i is synonymous to success.
“Whether as a Minister of the Federal Republic or not, we shall stand with our father and leader Mal Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufa’I and his antecedents have spoken for him.
“We say those who are not happy with the presence of Mal Nasiru El-Rufa’I in the current government have a long way to go because InSha Allah because he has written his name with a golden pen.
“On this note today we make the following calls to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,  t

o direct the Security Agencies to expedite action on their screening.

“To request the Security Agencies make available any concern or concerns they have and allow Mal el-Rufa’i respond appropriately to them urgently,” they demanded..
