One Fulani herdsman has been confirmed dead while two others were injured when suspected attackers cross over from Manchok in Kaduna State into Ganawuri in Riyom, a border town in Plateau State and opened fire on residents.
Plateau State Chairman for Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association in Nigeria, MACBAN, Muhammad Nura said the attack which took place Saturday night were carried out by suspected gunmen from Manchok a boundary community of Kaduna State with Ganawuri in Plateau State.
Nura gave the name of the deceased as Yahaya Musa while Suleiman Ibrahim and Samaila Adama are in critical condition in the hospital.
The chairman stated that; “16 of our members from Plateau State who were returning to Wase were killed in Kafanchan a few weeks back while others were killed around Gidan waya and Godogodo, yet we pleaded with our members to remain calm.
“The security agents and government should know that we will not sit back and allow people to come into Plateau State and our homes to kill us. Something should be done so that such incidents do not happen again.”
Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) Media and Information Officer, Captain Adam Umar confirmed the attack adding that the two communities share a boundary but stressed that the matter was being investigated while security has been intensified.
First of all, I commend the Fulani herdsmen fo their law abiding ness also, we must see ourself as one entity. The body language of Nigerians and ultrances is nothing than divisiveness and rooting for hatred amongst which tent to break the existnh peace and harmony. Quiet unfortunate, ….
