A political analyst in Ondo  State, Chief Alex Akinnadeju has sent a warning signal to the All Progressive Congress (APC), to have a rethink over their plan to boycott the Local Government election in the state.
Speaking at an interactive session with Journalists in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Chief Akinnadeju said they should forget the Governorship election if they should carry out their threat since they would had lost the much needed grassroot support.
According to him, eight months left to the October Guber election is too much a risk for any right thinking party to distant itself from the people at the grassroots.
Local Government, he said is more accessible to the masses since they could not run to the Presidency in Abuja or the Governor in Akure for any notable assistance whenever the need arises.
He also argued that with the prevailing situation in the country, it is more likely that Council Chairmen will have direct allocation from the Federation Account which will give them the impetus to prosecute election without much hindrance.
He therefore queried, what will be the fate of the APC if the Council and Councillorship election is made an all PDP affair by April 23, 2016.
He also urged the Leadership of  APC to make good use of the manner people are crossing over to their party from the PDP and other political parties in recent times, saying, they should not have the thought that any Chairman could cross over to APC after winning the election.
Such a move, he said will negate the mandate given to them by the people who are already accustomed with the party’s logo and symbol  hence they will pre occupy themselves to ensure victory for the party that worked for their success.
The political analyst however urged the people to shun money bag politicians by voting for candidates that have their interest at heart and could deliver dividends of democracy due to their antecedents.
