The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state has removed its Chairman, Barr. Isaac Kekemeke while an Acting Chairman, Mr. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye has been appointed with immediate effect.
Protesters stormed the APC State Secretariat as early as 8am to effect the removal of Kekemeke who was rejected following the self declaration by Gani Muhammed as the state chairman of the party.
According to them, Gani is too pro-Ajayi Boroffice an aspirant and such a person can not be entrusted with such a responsibility of being appointed as the state chairman of the APC.
The crisis rocking the APC in ondo state however took a new dimension as some party chieftains with youths and various women organisations sealed off the party Secretariat at the early hour of today, chanting anti Kekemeke song with different inscriptions.
As at the time of filling this report, the sacked chairman of the party in the state, Kekemeke could not be reached on his mobile phones.
The party Secretariat at the popular Oyemekun road was under lock and keyed by the angry party members saying “no to imposition” of candidate while security operatives kept the vigil to maintain law and order.
Meanwhile, it was reported last week that a particular candidate, Segun Abraham, was endorsed by the national leader of the party, Senator Bola Tinubu, which did not go dawn well with other aspirants who have paid huge some of money to clinch the party ticket.
