Ondo REC Charges Akeredolu To Operate Open Door Policy, Denies INEC Rigged Poll

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Ondo State, Mr. Olusegun Agbaje has called on the state Governor elect, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu SAN to make his government an all inclusive one by harmonising co-contestants programmes for the development of the state.
He also charged those that could not make it ”this time around to go back to the drawing board to re-strategize for another time as INEC will continue to create a level playing field needed for all those that aspire to take part in future elections.
The REC debunked the insinuation that INEC is romancing with APC, saying, this is not only untrue but highly embarrassing. He disclosed that the only thing Barrisrter Eyitayo Jegede SAN requested for which the Commission could not grant was the issue of postponing the election.
According to him, the Commission maintained that there was no justification to do so since WAEC would not postpone exam because a candidate in a secondary school sick or wounded.
He urged any aggrieved Political party to go to court on the outcome of the outcome of the Governorship election of Saturday November 26, 2016.
The Commission, he said, did not connive with any of the 28 political parties that took part in the election, he how ever challenged that ”if it is confirmed that INEC connived to perpetrate illegalities, I offer to be personally held responsible and be dealt with accordingly”.
In his acceptance speech, the Governor elect, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu SAN commends INEC for conducting a free and fair election which the people of this country believe is the best election so far.
According to him, it is time to rescue the land from those who plunged the state into a mess in the last seven years, saying there is time to vote, a time to campaign and a time to vote.
His words, ” the ball is now in our court to provide the right leadership for our people who has voted for Change, the contest lead to victory and work which I owe all of us”.
