The Alliance for Democracy (AD) governorship candidate in Ondo State, Chief Olusola Oke, assured the people of the Ondo South Senatorial District that his administration will redress the neglect that the area has suffered in the last seven and half years.
Oke, who bemoaned what he termed as deliberate abandonment of life-transforming projects and amenities in the oil rich South Senatorial District, assured the people that the AD government in the State would complete the projects for the benefit of the people of the area and other parts of Ondo State.
The AD gubernatorial hopeful, who spoke at campaign rallies in wards and communities in Okitipupa Council area, said the neglect of the projects and amenities by the present administration in the state had, no doubt, left the people impoverished and also impacted negatively on the economy of the State.
He listed the neglected projects and amenities which his administration would give the Midas touch to include the Olokola project; Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa; Omotoso Power Plant, Omotoso; Cassava Processing Company, Ikoya; Irele-Ayeka/Okitipupa Road; and igbokoda – Ugbonla Road.
Oke also promised to restore electricity to the six local government areas of the South Senatorial District- Odigbo, Ile Oluji/Okeigbo, Okitipupa, Irele, Ilaje and Ese Odo council areas which had been in total blackout in the last three years and as well rehabilitate roads in the area in addition to stepping up the link and farmland roads.
“The picture of the agony of joblessness, huge debt burden, poor infrastructure and the state of hopelessness that hover around the state dominate my thought” , he told the ecstatic crowds of AD members and supporters adding that this was why he decided with the support of well-meaning Ondo State people and Yoruba leaders to run under the banner of the alliance for Democracy (AD).
