The All Progressive Party (APC), Local Government Chairmen Forum in Ondo State,  has sent a warning signal to the party saying, any attempt  to anoint a candidate for the November 27 Governorship election will spell doom for the party.
The warning which was contained in a communique at the end of their monthly meeting, further warned that the rumour making the rounds that leaders of the party are making efforts to present a single candidate without conducting a primary election will not be accepted by all and sundry.
The Chairman of the Forum, Hon. Rasheed Badmus however reminded the party leaders of their consistency in assuring party members and aspirants of their readiness to conduct a free and fair primary, which he said can never be compromised.
His words ”we know that if this information is true, it is not only worrisome rather it will spell electoral doom for our great party in Ondo state”.
He went further, “the people of Ondo state are embodiment of pride and esteem, thus any imposition without free, fair and transparent primary will not be accepted by them’”.
They however appealed to the National Secretariat of the party to ”wade in and ensure that a free, fair and credible primary is conducted”.
The monthly meeting, August 2016 edition which was held at the Ondo West Local Government party Secretariat was attended by all the 18 party Chairmen.
