The campaign Committee of the governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), led by Dr. Olu Agunloye and his Deputy, Erelu Modupe Akindele Martins at the weekend, staged a house to house rally at Ilutuntun in Osoro land of Okitipupa Local Government.
Dr. Agunloye who said he did his project in Ilutuntun in 1970 displayed his familiarity with the ancient town of Ilutuntun as he took time to move from one house to the other distributing hand bills and soliciting for people’s support and votes.
Addressing a mammoth crowd, the Governorship candidate disclosed that what comes to the state from the Federation account in the last four years is more than what the former Governor, Dr. Olusegun Agagu received for six years.
He promised to either resuscitate or complete most of those projects which the former Governor, Dr. Olusegun Agagu embarked upon in Ikale land like Hospitals, roads and provision of portable water.
He also assured to recover those industries capable of improving the economy status of the people in Ikale land which were sold by the government of Ondo state.
In her own contribution at the open air rally at Ilutuntun, the Deputy Governor, Erelu Akindele Martins said The incumbent Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko deliberately tried to suppress Ikale kingdom.
She appealed to the people who had gathered to show solidarity to give Dr. Agunloye the opportunity to put things right by voting for him on November 26, 2016.
At the palace of Majuwa, Morubodo kingdom, Ilutuntun, Oba Idepefo Earnest Adeoye urged Dr. Agunloye to carry leaders of the community along when it is time for appointment.
He however regretted that Okitipupa local government, which is one of the largest council areas in the country has nothing to show as dividends of democracy.
While presenting the list of needs of the community to the Governorship candidate, he said, it has been the prayer of the community that God should appoint a governor for Ondo state, adding that Agunloye’s achievements in the FRSC and other Federal appointments are well pronounced.
Traditional Rulers in Ikale land seem to speak with one voice on issues bothering their communities, at Okitipupa, the Jegun of Idepe prayed that God should intervene ”in our course” and bring out the ancient town from the over two years darkness.
Also, Oba Williams Akinlade Akinmusayo, Uyi Oba 1, the Halujagbo of Aye kingdom, appealed to Agunloye to treat traditional rulers in high esteem by uplifting their standards and prompt payment of salaries when he gets to power. At Ikoya, Oba Jigbi Fagbile, the Abodi of Ikale land gave kudos to SDP for appointing their daughter, Erelu Modupe Akindele Martins as the Deputy to Agunloye.
Other tractional rulers who received Dr. Agunloye and his campaign team to their palaces were Oba Olumoyegun Festus Oyedele the Oniju of Iju Odo land and Chief Christopher Omoboboye Kowe, the Baale of Lawoye of Erekiti.
