Ondo Ex Commissioner slumps, dies in a Cyber Cafe

A former Commissioner in Ondo state, Alhaji Abbas Aidi Sunday reportedly slumped and died in a cyber café in Akure.
An impeccable source hinted that the politician was hale and hearty till yesterday morning when he drove himself to a cyber cafe in Alagbaka area of Akure where he was said to have gone to print some letters.
It was learnt that the former Commissioner slumped after collecting the letters from the cafe administrator.
Aidi, a former Commissioner during the administration of Late Governor Adebayo Adefarati was said to have been rushed to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead.
Late Aidi was born to a royal family of Olukare of Ikare and he worked as a banker for many years in Kaduna and Kano States before he joined politics.
He vied for governorship position under the defunct United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) and in 1999 he moved to the Alliance for Democracy (AD) where he worked with late Adefarati who made him the Commissioner for Lands and Housing.
The Late Commissioner has been buried according to Islamic rites at his home town, Ikare-Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of the state.
Among dignitaries at the burial ceremony were the State Deputy
Governor, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, former House of Representatives
Member, Hon Ganny Dauda and many other Muslim leaders in the state.
