The Delta State Governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa on Friday commissioned the Delta State School of Marine Technology in Burutu Local Government Area.
Governor Okowa said that his administration does not want too many higher institutions where people will not attend and courses not accredited.
Governor Okowa made the assertion at a town hall meeting with the people of Burutu Local Government Area.
The governor however promised that his administration will provide reasonable funds to make the Delta State School of Marine Technology in Burutu Local Government Area to make it more standard.
He said this is because peace has returned to the State since last year as things are beginning to get better.
While noting that it is possible to attract commercial banks to help provide banking facilities in the area, Governor Okowa said he has given a matching order to the Commissioner for Works and Contractor to complete the access road to the Marine School. He stressed,”I have given directive as it will not take much from us.”
Governor Okowa pointed out that he had inspected the Obotebe, Sokebulou, Ogulagha roads while the first phase of the Ogulagha modern school has been commissioned with the second phase awarded to Setraco Construction Company. Governor Okowa also said his administration will continue to provide funds for the completion of the projects.
Governor Okowa also apologized to the people who have worked for the success of his administration that he has ignored.
“We are very sorry for that. We will do our best to get in touch with you through our empowerment project.”
“We are starting the road at Otorigbe next year by God’s grace, October 2019.”
Governor Okowa commissioned the Burutu market and Burutu modern Grammar School.
Governor Okowa also inspected the ongoing renovated school just as he awarded the Renovation of Burutu General Hospital and ordered the Local Government Chairman to commence with the employment of fifty primary school teachers.
In a welcome address, the Burutu Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. God knows Angele congratulated Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa for his landmark projects spread across the nook and cranny of the State.
The Council boss also thanked the governor for the peaceful, free and credible Local Government Elections that saw to his emergence as Chairman of Burutu LGA. January 6, 2018. Hon. Angele also promised governor Okowa bloc votes to continue his developmental strides.
