Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has announced the establishment of six new tertiary institutions in the state, to complement it’s education policy.
He said, the establishment of the new institutions was part of the state government plan to revolutionize the education sector in the state.
The Governor announced the new institutions as, university of engineering Onuimo, University ofAgriculture Aboh Mbaise, Ihitte-Uboma, College of education and Ehime Polytechnic.
He further said, that the National High school Arondizuogu would become a college of education while AhiaraTechnical College would be upgraded to a polytechnic.
Governor Okorocha, also announced the plan by his administration to relocate some of the state ministries in order to decentralize development in the state.
He said that the ministry of Tourism, would be moved to Oguta while the ministry of Niger Delta would be moved to Ohaji/Egbema Local government Area.
According to him, the ministry of Agriculture would be relocated to Ngor-Okpala local government area as the minister of sports would be moved to Dan Anyiam stadium.
