Ogun police arrest kidnapper of 4-years old pupil

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested the leader of a kidnap group who abducted a four year old pupil in Ijebu – Ode area of the state.
The suspect, Wale Ogunbadejo was arrested last Friday after the police had combed the kidnappers’ hideout in Ijebu – Ode in search of the boy identified as Attairu Amisu.
The Police Public Relations Office (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest of the kidnappers’ leader told journalists that Ogunbadejo kidnapped the boy in his school located in Obalende area of Ijebu-Ode.
According to Oyeyemi the kidnapper pretended to be a relation of the boy and acting under the instruction of his parents to bring him back home after the school hours last week Tuesday before the real mother eventually showed up few minutes later and demanded for same boy.
He stated that the kidnap gang later contacted the parent as well as the school authority and demanding for a ransom of N5 Million.
“The case was reported at Obalende Division in Ijebu-Ode and the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu dispatched the anti-kidnapping team led by SP Olumide Jimoh with a matching order that the boy must be rescued unhurt”.
“The team swung into action and their effort paid off on the 21st October, 2016 when the hideout of the gang was bursted and one Wale Ogunbadejo who is their kingpin was arrested and the boy rescued unhurt”.
Oyeyemi however, stated further that the victim, Amisu has been handed over to his parents, while the suspect is currently undergoing interrogation.
