A pro-democracy group, Ogbomoso Progressive Youths Movement has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for nominating a son of the soil, Sunday Dare as Minister in the Next Level cabinet.
Ogbomoso Progressive Youths Movement in a statement issued on Thursday by their Convener, Comrade Jacob Oyelola, described the appointment as deserving and a good reward for the contributions of Ogbomosoland to the victory of President Buhari and the APC during the 2019 general elections.
Oyelola noted that the five local government areas in the zone delivered 5 out of the 8 elective positions including two senatorial seats, one house of representatives members and two state assembly seats for APC against all odds.
”We congratulate the industrious son of Ogbomoso, Sunday Dare on his nomination as Minister by President Muhammadu Buhari. Recall that Ogbomoso delivered 5 out of 8 elective positions for APC while the ADP that aligned with us got two posts.
“The ruling party in Oyo state, PDP only won one House of Assembly seat throughout Ogbomoso land.”
”We are progressive minded people in Ogbomoso and will continue to keep faith with the All Progressives Congress due to people-focus agenda of President Buhari.”
The movement however implored Sunday Dare to be a good ambassador of Ogbomosoland and add value to Buhari’s presidency by harnessing his wealth of experience as well as global exposure for the common good of the masses.
Oyelola also advised young people to upgrade their skills and contribute their quota to community development.
