Obasanjo denies saying he brought Buhari to power, pledges commitment to keep Nigeria one

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has denied ever claiming that he and three other  persons were behind the coming of president Buhari as the president of this country while pledgeing his commitment in ensuring peace and unity of the country.
He made the pledge at a courtesy call on Governor Darius Ishaku in Government House Jalingo, Tuesday.
Chief Obasanjo said the task of keeping Nigeria as a single entity must be taken with seriousness and commitment by all Nigerians.
He assured that he and other former leaders of the country would do all they could to ensure that Nigeria remained a single and united country.
“If things work very well in this country it will be for the good of every one of us and if things went wrong we would all be victims” the former president stated.
In his address, Governor Darius stated that when he assumed office there were conflicts of different dimension in the state but however such problem was addressed.
He said he had done his best to ensure the return of peace in all part of the state and he is not relenting.
“I gave all the necessary support to security agencies to carry out their duty and I encouraged people to give me peace and in return to give them development.” Darius stated.
Darius commended obasanjo for his commitment in ensuring the unity of Nigeria and assured that he will continue to do his best in encouraging peaceful coexistence among people of this state.
