Team Kaduna Chess players braved the odds to claim two medals, one silver and a bronze at the end of chess event of the ongoing 7th National Youth Games (NYG), Asaba 2023.
An excited chairman of Kaduna State Chess Association, Navy Capt. Musa Abdullahi has therefore, extended his congratulatory message through and also thanking the Kaduna State Ministry of Sports Development for availing the young stars the opportunity to showcase thier talents.
He assured that, “the team will do better if granted another opportunity because we are going to build on the success and work on our weakness”.
Coach Felix who is a parent of one the players, commended the young kids for thier resilience despite facing some very tough matches.
“They never gave up, they fought from the very beginning to the end,” he added.
He also praised Coach Tahir for putting in some level of hard work in preparing the players before the games, while appreciating the Kaduna State Chess Association Secretary, Mr Garba Shehu for the professional management of players and coaches.
