NUC Inspects Sites For Proposed University Of Technology In Jigawa

The Federal Government delegation from the Ministry of Education and the National Universities Commission (NUC) have visited two sites in Babura town for assessment, towards the establishment of the Federal University of Science and Technology Babura.
It would be recalled that on July 2, 2021, the Federal Ministry of Education   sent a letter to Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, informing him that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of the Federal University of Technology Babura, which also prompted the technical working committee to commence on an assessment visit to the proposed sites.
The first proposed site which is  a virgin land located along Kano Babura road, while the other location is an attempt to convert the Jigawa State College of Remedial and Advanced Studies into the Federal University of Technology Babura.
It is expected that such visitation will pave way for the possible execution methodology for the commencement of erecting supporting structures for the varsity’s take- off. 
On the visitation, Governor Badaru Abubakar was accompanied by the relevant stakeholders such as the Commissioner of Education, Dr. Lawan Yunusa Danzomo, Commissioner of Lands, Sagir Musa, and Salisu Muazu Babura the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, among other state government officials.
It is believed that very soon, the Federal Government will announce the preferred location.
Meanwhile, Jigawa  State Governor hosted an August visitor, who was a former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sherif at his residence in Babura Local Government Area where they had a closed-door meeting.
