By; Nicholas Dekera, Kaduna.
The Vice Chancellor of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Professor Vincent Ado Tenebe on has revealed that the University’s workshop on Entrepreneurial Development is aimed at “kick starting the process of job creation for Nigeria’s teaming youths”.
Speaking at the Workshop organized by Center for Educational Technology and Entrepreneurial Development (CETED), the Vice Chancellor who stood in for the Governor and the Visitor of the University, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and President Mohammadu Buhari respectively said the University via CETED will create jobs for millions of Nigeria’s unemployed youths hence the theme of the workshop; “writing a business proposal”.
“We need to teach these graduates and non-graduates how to write business proposals that will convince financial institutions to give out money. As we speak, over 100 billion naira have not been utilize in the Bank of Industry and over 500 Billion naira yet to be utilize in UBEC and TETFUND respectively because our youths have not written any winning  proposal. We must therefore look for a way to engage them in quality entrepreneurial training that will make them more viable economically and take them away from social vices. Start something and start small’’ he added.
Earlier, the Director Center for Educational Technology and Entrepreneurial Development (CETED) Professor Grace Jokthan said the  workshop sought to increase Business Creation and translating theories and research works into practical work.

(NUC), Professor Julius Okojie who was represented by Mrs. Margret
Oyedele, congratulated CETED for building industrious youths via skill
acquisition and pledged NUC’s support for the University.
