The greatest enemy of the Northern Nigeria is the Northerners themselves, as those from the North West see themselves different. Same scenario is applicable to the North-East and those at the North-Central are seen as inferior.
They do not matter. They are important only when it concerns votes during election- population.
They do not count when it comes to political appointments. This division sends beautiful signal to any elected president outside the North to have gusto and temerity to bulldoze the entire North. Broom sticks sweep better when they are well tied together. The weakness we all ignore have taken advantage of us all. My heart bleeds each time I think of the United Northern Nigeria then, when an injury to one was truly an injury to all.Truth will be said without minding whose ox is gored. No society or region attain greatness in the midst of injustice. People will now tomfoolery casitigate others without cautiousness. We are bedeviled by insecurity ravaging a fraction of the North then little did we know that it spread like wildfire to the part reputable for peace. Please permit me to ask this pertinent question, where or which part is peaceful today in the North?
By now the chicken should have come home to roost. The black goat is better searched in the day time; certainly not in the night.
Another question is where are Northern eldership? Those people seen as leaders; honest leaders! It’s a dog that should be wagging the tail not the tail wagging the dog. Insecurity in the north requires an urgent surgery. The root causes must be traced and justice should be served. But who come to the rescue; Who will champion this noble cause for the sake of humanity and history?
The North is now ghost of itself. Even the past glory of most part of Nigeria is no longer available and relevant. It’s almost as if Tinubu came into office with a carefully planned strategy that he is gradually implementing, and It appears the grand masterplan is to cut the North down to size in the national equation as desired by their so-called ‘progressives’ beginning from the First Republic and he seems intent on achieving the objective by the time he leaves office.
Sadly, we no longer have leaders like the Sardauna of blessed memory. Today, the North is like an orphan stranded in the scorching desert wilderness. With generational poverty compounded by rampant insecurity, the North is at the most vulnerable period in its history, and its predators can clearly smell blood.
The search for political hegemony and relevance is gradually going into extinction. Expect no one to fix your home but you. We can all do the needful. Literally, traditonal institutions and religious leaders who naturally should remain apolitical are in politics thereby compounding the problems. What is the way forward? Where are the solutions? Where are the best brains in the North?
No one needs to be told that, it is a well-written script, I mean the insecurity tearing us apart. We must brace up for the worse if concerted efforts are not put in place to repudiation.
Northern Nigeria is now an orphan in its domain. It appears the needle acupuncture requires stitches.The needle that sews, which covers the nakedness of the people, its acupuncture is wide open.This is the replica of situation Northern Nigeria finds itself.
Self- serving leaders have been the habits of the Northerners for many decades of misrule from the military to civilian regime. Same story.
Who will come to the rescue? It is now or never. From poverty , lack , hardship, uneducated and the worst of all, insecurity ravaging daily. In fact, it is order of the day.
Oh Almighty Allah SWT, we come to You in true repentance.
