Northeast peace restoration: Buhari’s greatest achievement

Restoration of peace in the Northeast sub-region and the country generally has been equated as the greatest achievement of President Buhari-led administration since its assumption to power in May, 2015 which feat would also stands the test of time.
Making the observation in Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi state, a Councilor, Abubakar Umar said that prior to the inception of the Buhari administration, their wives did not want them go to places of worship for fear of their breadwinners’ lives.
Umar, who represents Dass ward in the Local Government Area, explained that the said period witness uncertainty that their often remain doubtful that as to whether or not their husbands will be back home safely.
Speaking while receiving members of the Democratic Enlightenment Initiation, an NGO, he recalled that the period under review witnessed calamities not only in Bauchi, Northeast or Nigeria but globally, citing example with Saudi Arabia where building collapsed and the Jamrat Stampede.
Malam Abubakar Umar, who described as crucial the role being played by the NGO towards educating the people on policies and programmes, commended Governor Mohammed for the judicious utilization of the bailout funds.
Also speaking, Governor Mohammed Abubakar’s coordinator in the 2015 electioneering campaigns, Buhari Salisu noted that the area never enjoy tertiary educational institution till the advent of the APC administration in the state.
Salisu expressed gratitude to the Bauchi state government for its concluded plan to reconstruct a major road in the area that would not only facilitate evacuation of farm produce, but also boost socio-economic activities in the area.
Dass Local Government Council Deputy Chairman, Abdulkadir Abdulmuminu Wandi who received the NGO, urged APC stakeholders to be cautious of PDP chieftains in the area whom, he said, are all out to financially muscle the APC ahead of the 2019 general elections
