Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has said that it has not reviewed the prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) popularly known as petrol at ex- coastal, ex- depot and NNPC Retail prices as being circulated by social media in the country.
A statement made available to the New Nigerian in Katsina by Group General Manager in charge Group Public Affairs Division of the NNPC, Garba Deen  Muhammad described the report in the social media as “not true.”
“It is fake news obviously concocted to cause confusion and to undermine the progressive drive of the NNPC to restore normalcy to the market,” Garba Deen  Muhammad emphasized.
He appealed to members of the Public and Industry Operators at all levels to disregard the mischievous act of the misinformation.               Garba Deen  reiterated that, NNPC Ltd remained focused and determined to reposition itself to provide value to its share holders while meeting its statutory obligation as provider of energy security for the nation.                           New Nigerian gathered that, the Memo in circulation was earlier signed by the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the NNPC, Mele Kyari since March 18, 2020 and was mischievously released in Abuja to the social media by unknown staff of the Corporation in the early hours of Monday, March 21, 2022.
