The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Faruk Yahaya has said that the Nigerian Military School (NMS) Zaria has over the years, been injecting and grooming young soldiers for the Nigerian Army.
He stated this at the 63rd Passing Out Parade (POP) of the boys, held at the RSM Zakari Bala Kumasi Parade Ground on Saturday.
Represented by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1st Division Nigerian Army Kaduna, Major General K. I. Mukhtar, he said NMS is working towards training the manpower for the Nigerian Armed Forces.
The Army boss said, Nigerian Army has been engaged in the fight against insurgency, banditry, rustling of cattle and other insecurity activities across the country.
General Yahaya said the Nigerian Military School was set up to provide middle class manpower and assured that Nigerian Army would support the school.
Also, he assured that the problems confronting NMS will be addressed immediately in as much the school maintains its discipline and commitments.
The Chief of Army Staff congratulated the Commandant of NMS and his supporting staff for the successful Passing Out Parade.
