The Adamawa State chapter of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) has provided free medical treatment to over 6,000 people in Malkohi IDP camp and Mubi General Hospital in the state with 35 surgeries.
Dr Adiel Adamu Apagu, the state chairman of the association who made this known in an interview with newsmen in Yola, disclosed that over 6, 200 patients were attended to, over 30 surgeries carried out on male and female, young and old.
Apagu stated further that drugs worth over N7 million was exhausted, 51 doctors and 30 supporting staff were involved in the free treatment exercise.
“Government should improve medical and healthcare facilities as well as welfare of Doctors to enable us deliver effectively services to the people.”Apagu explained.##
