NLC Commends Gov Zulum For Paying 2020 Leave Grants, Makes More Demands

His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Borno State Professor Babagana Umara Zulum Mni Fnse received leaders of the organized labour on a courtesy visit at Government House Maiduguri on Wednesday August 17, 2022.

In his address, the Borno  State Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC),  Mr. Yusuf inuwa stated that they were at the Government House to appreciate and thank the governor for paying 2020 leave grants and to also present other civil servants demands in the state, which he said, includes payment of minimum wage for qualified teachers, payment of  promotion benefits and reverification of affected local government staff.

Responding, the governor thanked the labour leaders for the visit and called for collaboration between the union and the state government.

Meanwhile, responding to their demands the governor graciously approved the payment of minimum wage to 4,491 qualified teachers in the state, while others not qualified,  will be retrained, saying no civil servant will be retrenched. 

On other demands, the governor assured them of timely attention.
