The Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, has commenced academic activities for National Diploma (ND) and National Innovation Diploma (NID) programmes for 2023/2024 academic session.

A statement issued by the Institutes  Public Affairs Unit, said the courses being run include, National Diploma (ND) in Transport and Logistics Management and National Innovation Diploma (NID) in Shipping Management.

According to the statement, both courses were recently approved for running by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and they are domiciled in the Transport School, one of the academic departments in the Institute.

The Director, Transport School, Dr. Baba Ibrahim Mundi, said the  resumption for academic activities and orientation are slated to begin from May 8  to 19,  2023, even though admission is still ongoing.

The director also stated that interested candidates are required to obtain the admission forms from the Registry Department, after writing the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations.

It would be recalled that in September, 2022, the Arc. Ugoh Ngbede-led National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) inspection team approved two ND programmes for Transport School and six ND programmes for Transport Technology Centre of the Institute.

The approval followed a diligent resource inspection in key areas of academics, physical facilities, staffing, among other considerations.

Similarly, the institute’s outreach learning centres in the six geopolitical zones of the federation have commenced Certificate in Transport and Logistics (CTL), Diploma in Transport and Logistics (DTL) and Postgraduate Diploma in Transport and Logistics (PGDTL) programmes.

Registration, resumption and orientation will last till May 19, 2023.

“NITT programmes are reportedly a perfect blend of theory and practicals.

“This was made possible through a combination of highly motivated and skilled resource persons as well as state-of-the-art facilities.

“All these are tied to the Institute’s vision of becoming an internationally recognised centre of excellence,” the statement said.
