The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) and Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigerian (MACBAN), have described the 2021 National Citizens Summit on Integration Peace and Security being organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), as a welcome development.
The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) and Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigerian (MACBAN) also noted the summit would be a catalyst for national rebirth for the restoration of peaceful coexistence among people of diverse nationalities.
A courtesy call at the Secretariats by the State Organising Committee of the summit, led by the state chairman, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Kaduna chapter, Haroun Malami, noted that the groups hailed the summit as a strategic step to restoring the apparent broken relationship amongst stakeholders in the country in view of the continued strife destroying the fabric of nationhood.
A statement issued by the Secretary of the organising committee, James Swam explained that the secretary general of JNI, Dr. Khalid Aliyu noted that the role of NIPR in nation building cannot be over-emphasized.
He urged the Institute to continue to play active part in building cordial relationship between ethnic, religious, social and political groups to foster unity in the country.
He observed, “I am glad that NIPR is playing its original role of building cordial relationships among Nigerians.  At JNI we believe in peace and would always join forces with peacemakers to promote integration. The situation today requires everybody to be alive to their responsibilities by promoting unity. The Institute would need to regularly distribute handbills, posters and messages of unity.”
The chairman of MACBAN in the state, Haruna Tugga, believed that members of his association would be the major beneficiaries of peaceful coexistence, saying that insecurity has not only affected herders, but the entire economy of northern Nigeria is wobbling.
He prayed that government would apply solutions suggested at the Summit for the country’s development.
Earlier, the NIPR Chairman, Haroun Malami, had narrated that the Summit was part of the Institute’s social responsibility to activate national reconciliation, restore trust in relationship, promote mutual respect, rebuild peace and security process as well as relay foundation for Nigerian rebirth.
